Video game assessments!

Hi there, I noticed your comments on WT:WikiProject Video games, and then found your assessment on Talk:DrumMania#Update_suggestions, which you presumably did from the WP:VG/A page? I just want to note here that I'm quite impressed by such a good assessment while you're evidently new to the area. When you write an assessment, feel free to change the rating of the article (at the top, the video games box). Changing ratings doesn't really improve articles, but it's good to give editors recognition for their efforts. Also, you can then remove the article from the "requests for assessment" list, and add it to the "completed assessments" list. User:Krator (t c) 12:28, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

PS: I see you're seeking 'adoption' on your userpage. I would be willing to adopt you, if you want. I haven't done it before, though, but it sounds like a useful thing.

Consider yourself adopted, then. I'll write some more here later. User:Krator (t c) 13:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Biography Question

{{helpme}}

So, I was idling around, using Special:Random, when I came across the biography of one Newton Lee. I noticed there were a couple of link errors, so I had a look at the history to see if anyone had been maintaining the page recently. I then discovered that User:Newtonlee had performed the vast majority of edits here. In fact, most of his contributions are on this biography entry. Question is, is this allowed? Is there someone or some group that should be alerted?

Many thanks for any help or guidance that you can offer. Gazimoff (talk) 17:04, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, I think this is allowed, but the user may have a conflict of interest with the article. --The Helpful One (Review) 17:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Criticism of World of Warcraft

I'm sorry but I'm not sure how helpful I can be. I've looked over your changes and can't find fault with any of them (except a small typo that an anonymous IP fixed already). All I can say so far is good job, I like the way you've restructured and Wikified the article. I'm pretty bad at coming up with images for articles, and this article in particular is difficult because I can't imagine what images would be appropriate. If a public domain image of Dr. Maressa Orzack was available you could possibly include it later in the article, and maybe a screenshot of the realm selection list for the server instability section? (Or a screenshot of the realm status page taken when servers are down.) I'm not sure about the copyright issues that would be associated with those screenshots though, as I said I'm bad with finding article images.

One thing that I did notice in the article that can be improved, this passage...

On May 3, 2006 Shane Dabiri, World of Warcraft Lead Producer, stated that new realms would be introduced to relieve the burden on existing ones. Existing realms would be upgraded.

That was almost 2 years ago but there's nothing in the article stating if that promise was kept. That's all I can come up with now that needs to be improved, again good job! -- Atamachat 20:28, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

BOLD

Hi there Gazimoff,

I've been seeing some of your your progress on the 'pedia, and I think you're doing a great job. There's one suggestion I'd like to make: Be Bold! That policy page is a good read, and means you don't have to 'wait for approval to go live' - just do it. Actually, no one would've minded if you used the article itself instead of a sandbox in your userspace. Only when difficult and controversial topics are concerned, special scrutiny is advised. None of the articles in the '700 list' are such topics, and only very few in the scope of the video games project as a whole.

Regarding Sawada assesment

Regarding the article, what further information is needed to get it at least to B class in your opinion? Or what needs to be changed or added, etc. At this point I've done or found everything official related to the character, given he was quickly forgotten after the film and animated series. Thanks for your time.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:41, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XI

Could you help us find the Famitsu score of FFXI? I don't know any japanese, that's why I ask, perhaps you know. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 17:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

I have responded on the article's talk page with my findings. Hope this helps. Gazimoff (talk) 17:25, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello!

Saw you citing the World Of Warcraft page. Glad you have a penchant for finding citations as that is certainly a weak spot of mine. Lemme know if you're working on any gaming articles that need some formatting (I am reletivley new as well, but have been formatting for Project Gutenberg for a while and enjoy doing it).

LeilaniLad (talk) 17:39, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Howdy! I usually list my current projects on my userpage, the main one at the moment being Maressa Orzack. Feel free to dive in and help out if you like - there's some additional sources and a draft framework commented out on the page for you to look at. Other than that, I'll give you a shout when I need a 2nd eye to run over things! Gazimoff (talk) 20:32, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Hazardous Environment Combat Unit

What is it you wanted done with the content of this article? seresin | wasn't he just...? 07:38, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

If you could either place it in a sandbox in my userspace, or tack it on to the end of Talk:Half-Life (series)/merge, that would be fantastic. I plan to make a compact article featuring all creatures from the series, using this material as a starting point. Many thanks! --Gazimoff (talk) 08:29, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Off for a few days

Hey there 'adoptee'! I'll be off for a few days. If you have any questions you'd normally ask me, your 'adopter', consider asking them to User:Jacoplane instead, he'll be able to do more for you in the coming days. User:Krator (t c) 20:14, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably have a bagfull when you come back though :)Gazimoff (talk) 20:27, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Your edits on World of Warcraft

You should not be removing wholesale large sections of an article because of a lack of a ref. The suggested action in this instance is to add a "citation needed". Mjharrison (talk) 17:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm totally happy to discuss the virtues of the section i introduced on the wow talk page, but by removing wholesale, as you did without warning or notification on my talk page or on the article's talk page, was just wrong. I hope you can see why. Happy WPing Mjharrison (talk) 17:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
have introduced a talk section to discuss the virtues of including/modifying my contribution, hope you find this satisfactory. In any case, I would argue the basic principle of WOW being a target for criticism as a PVP game ought to be represented at some level, therefore i would submit to you that the section stand for now and it be whittled down by consensus to a universally acceptable form in time, modulo the inclusion of good references. By the way, my editing of your user page instead of your talk page was an accident on my part. sorry champ. Mjharrison (talk) 18:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Importance

When you rate an article as Mid-importance, don't write it as "medium". It shows the graphic for Mid-importance, but keeps it in unrated category. Thanks. --Mika1h (talk) 13:44, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Horse Isle (video game)

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Horse Isle (video game), which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, it is best not to propose deletion of articles that have previously been de-{{prod}}ed, even by the article creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Thank you for taking the time to review Music of FFX. I believe that I have addressed all of your concerns, so it's ready for you to look at whenever you get a chance. --PresN (talk) 13:50, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
